In 2024, the Chad Lake Foundation proudly participated in Recovery Advocacy Day, hosted by People Advocating Recovery at the state capitol in Frankfort, KY. This event provided a vital platform for us to join forces with other advocates, share our mission, and amplify the voices of those impacted by addiction. By engaging with policymakers and the community, we aimed to promote policies that support recovery and highlight the importance of comprehensive addiction treatment and prevention. Our involvement underscored our dedication to fostering a supportive environment for individuals on their recovery journey and advocating for meaningful change.
The Chad Lake Foundation's Leaders of Vital Experience (LOVE) Support Group has made a significant impact by serving approximately 77 women at the Ohio County Detention Center (OCDC) in 2024. Our support group is dedicated to empowering individuals affected by incarceration, guiding them toward leading law-abiding lives through the teachings of Jesus Christ.
CLF also provided meals for everyone who was incarcerated at OCDC in 2024 on two separate occasions. By providing vital support and resources, we strive to foster personal growth, resilience, and a positive transformation in the lives of those we serve.
In 2024, The Chad Lake Foundation's Leaders of Vital Experience (LOVE) Support Group expanded to Daviess County. This support group meets every Tuesday night at Rooted Recovery. This weekly gathering provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals impacted by incarceration to share their experiences, find encouragement, and grow together. Through the teachings of Jesus Christ, the group empowers participants to lead law-abiding lives and fosters a sense of community and resilience while encouraging others to find their God-given PURPOSE. Join us every Tuesday to connect, heal, and transform your life with the support of the LOVE Support Group.
In 2024, the Chad Lake Foundation made a substantial contribution to community health and safety by distributing free NARCAN. We provided 24 boxes to the Daviess County Sheriff's Department and another 24 boxes to Rooted Recovery. Additionally, numerous boxes were given to individuals at various events throughout the year. This initiative underscores our commitment to combating opioid overdoses and supporting those in need within our community.
In 2024, Chad Lake Foundation's Founder & CEO, Britney Jones, and Vice President, Dr. LeAnn Howell, embarked on a transformative mission trip to the Dominican Republic with The Springs, a church based in Russell Springs, KY. During this mission, they had the profound experience of witnessing 55 men in prison participate in water baptisms, foot-washing ceremonies, and the sharing of personal experiences and testimonies. This journey not only reinforced their commitment to the foundation's mission but also highlighted the power of faith and community in fostering positive change.
The Bible reminds us in Hebrews 13:3 to "Remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison." This mission trip exemplified that teaching, demonstrating that through a relationship with Christ Jesus, individuals can experience profound transformation and rehabilitation. The power of faith offers hope and the possibility of a new beginning, reinforcing the belief that everyone has the potential to change and lead a positive, law-abiding life.
In 2024, the Chad Lake Foundation actively raised awareness at numerous events across Kentucky, including several overdose awareness events. By participating in these events, we aimed to educate the public about the dangers of opioid abuse and the importance of prevention and intervention. Our efforts included distributing free NARCAN, providing valuable resources, and sharing personal stories to highlight the impact of addiction and the power of recovery. Through these initiatives, we reinforced our commitment to supporting individuals and families affected by substance abuse and promoting a healthier, safer community.
Through the generous donations and funds raised, we worked with 6 individuals upon their reentry into society, paying their rent to ensure they had a safe and stable place to live. Additionally, we covered home incarceration fees for 2 people, alleviating financial stress and aiding their transition towards a brighter future. These efforts highlight how our initiatives are effectively fostering stability and independence for those in need. We hope to increase these numbers and funds in 2025!
The Chad Lake Foundation partnered with the Angel Tree Prison Fellowship to bring joy to over 50 children in the community by providing Christmas gifts to those with loved ones who were incarcerated. This heartfelt initiative ensured that these kids experienced the magic of the holiday season, despite the challenges their families faced. By spreading cheer and showing support, we helped create lasting memories and reinforced our commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those affected by incarceration. Your generous contributions made this possible, and we are deeply grateful for your support!
